If you were paying attention to the
March 14th NEWS blurb, you heard that a new book was in the works... well... details:
Hands and
Feet (Regal Books) will hit store shelves September 5. The book
will take you on a true-life adventure of one of Christian music’s best-loved
bands, along with a missions team of young people as they journey together
to build an orphanage in Haiti and minister to children in desperate need.
In this travelogue-style journal about a powerful
journey, you can learn about Haiti, hear directly from the members
of Audio Adrenaline, meet Drex and Jo Stuart (Mark’s parents, who lead the
project in Haiti), read journal entries from the students who went to Haiti,
find inspiration for your own mission & outreach and hear about how lives
are being changed. The book also features a day-in-the-life of a child of
Haiti and appendices for mission trip preparation and essentials. |

As if touring with ONE band wasn't enough,
Tyler has signed on for a seven-week touring
stint w/Columbia
Records' Mat Kearney! As Mat announced last week, "Singer-songwriter
and guitar god, Tyler Burkum, will also be joining us and making everything
sound epic and beautiful. It is a really good feeling to know I will have
such talented guys sharing the stage with me and good friends to help tackle
the road."As for Tyler, he is just really excited to be out on the road, playing music & sharing good company. With a few shows already completed, you still have plenty more chances to catch this amazing combo before the tour wraps on June 15th! But don't wait too long, as most of the dates are selling out quickly!! For tour dates & more info, check out Mat Kearney's website or MySpace. [ NOTE: due to the AudioA tour schedule, Tyler will not be appearing at the May 28th (Nashville, TN) or June 3rd (Madison, WI) shows. ] |

The iMission is coming!! Bob
Herdman may have left "the road", but he hasn't gone anywhere! In fact,
he's been involved in the behind-the-scenes operations of the band, as
well as co-founding the H&FP with AudioA a few years ago. In
just over a week, Bob will be trekking to Haiti to fill in for Drex and
Jo (resident missionaries & parents to Mark Stuart). From April
28 through May 11 Bob will be armed with a laptop, digital camera &
plenty of ideas; taking a lot of time for blogging,
taking pictures, video and possibly even setting
up a few live webcams at the project site (in-between
feedings
& changing diapers, of course)!
Consider this your opportunity to join w/Bob & "become amateur missionaries
together"! Get involved and experience the project through his eyes!Daily updates will be posted to the online journal (hosted at HandsAndFeetProject.org), so be sure to tune in as Bob attempts to oversee the project's operations (flying solo!) and relay the day-to-day activities in a multimedia presentation that is sure to be unlike any mission trip you've experienced before!! |
[ April 17, 2006 ]
Since Ben spilled the beans (so to speak)
this past weekend, I guess it's safe for the world to know... the AudioA
boys WILL be doing one final tour this year.Though individual dates have yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that AudioA will be touring with (former Go Show tourmates) MercyMe -- as well as new-comer Phil Wickham -- this fall; starting September 21st & running through November 12th. (More details forthcoming as soon as they are available.) |
[ April 14, 2006 ]
If you ask him, Mark will probably say he's 27... but
that's only because this birthday boy doesn't
feel (or look) his thirty-eight years!! Having to hang out at an
amusement park all day & perform for a sold-out Texas crowd on your
big day doesn't sound like that bad of a deal... especially when you get
surprised with a "Jaws" cake just before bed! Hope it was a blessed
one, my friend. |
[ March 14, 2006 ]
Doesn't look like there are any signs of slowing down anytime
soon.... not that it's what any good junkie would expect! The AudioA
guys will be staying busy spending the first couple weeks in April in the studio with Jay Joyce (UMHCI producer),
laying down the extra tracks for their upcoming Adios project
in between GMA Week activities...... and the end of the month will find
the boys on their third trip to New Zealand
in the past few years! Also in the works is another
AudioA BOOK... yes... literature... along with over 30 summer festival appearances (and counting)!!
So don't worry, junkies..... they ain't goin' nowhere, YET!!! |
[ March 7, 2006 ]
With their
final GMA Week less than a month away, the AudioA boys are
beginning to make plans. If you'll be in Nashville the first
week of April for the festivities, you can catch up with Mark, Will,
Ben & Tyler (along with many other CCM artists) at 11am on
Sunday at their Artist Meet & Greet at the
Nashville Convention Exhibit Hall (details).
Then make sure to make your way over to the Mercy Lounge at 930p
Tuesday night to catch the Flicker Essential Late
Night Showcase. Mark will be taking on a new role as Host
and you can enjoy performances from such Flicker acts as Day
of Fire, Kids In The Way, Eleventyseven, Until June and more!! |
| [ March 5, 2006 ]

until he joins him in celebrating his 38th! Be sure
to head on over to his myspace and wish him a happy
one!! |

Already beginning to wrap things
up through their final year of touring, seems like the boys of AudioA
are ready to shift their focus to concentrating
on their off-shore missions work. Specifically, Mark & Will are gearing up to hit churches nation-wide
with the message of the
Hands and Feet Project and how YOU can be involved!!! If
you'd like to get the AA guys out to YOUR Church...
to hear more about the H&FP... how you can help... and even how you could end up on a trip to Haiti with Audio
Adrenaline... [[admin note: due
to the unanticipated response, the calendar is currently full through 2006!
but be sure to stay tuned for more dates to open up for next year!!]]...and this could be you!!

Talked to Will this afternoon and got the whole Grammy recap!!
Be sure to check out his blog via the AudioA
MySpace!! |
| [ February 9, 2006 ]
"The Grammy is like a lifetime achievement award
for us. It's great to be honored and I can't think of a better way
to go out." Yep -- that's right... AudioA has taken
home back-to-back Grammy Awards!!! Mark,
Will, Ben, Tyler & Brian were all in attendance at the ceremonies last
night when Until My Heart Caves In was announced as Best Rock Gospel Album!!
The AudioA boys didn't attend the 2004 awards show
(due to being in St. Louis on their WinterJam Tour), so this was
their first
and only appearance on the Grammy
stage. More to come as the boys return home, Grammys in tow, and recap the night in their own words. For now, be sure to check out the moblog pictures sent in from the ceremonies via the boys' cell phones... |
[ February 7, 2006 ] Ever wondered what the AudioA guys might've been like as young kids? Well, get to Franklin, TN this October and you just might get a chance to revert to those elementary school days and find out!! Details are still being hashed out, but a Hands & Feet Project benefit dodge ball tournament is in the works!!! So get your youth group in shape and prepare to take on the likes of Mark, Will, Ben, Tyler & Brian, as well as some of their friends, including TobyMac & the boys of Relient K!! Stay tuned for more... |
| [ February 7, 2006 ] Church punks...? Definitely. With the recent addition of a tattoed wedding ring around Ben's finger, the boys of AudioA are all officially inked. If you're wondering where's the place to go, try Billy Joe's off Broadway in Nashville. |
[ January 24, 2006 ]
With plans in the works for their final year, the JUNKIES are already UNITING to celebrate the entity
that is AudioA. As not to put all our secrets out there
for all to see, PLEASE email me at Lindsay@audioajunkie.com
(subject: "ADIOS") and get the scoop on how
to return the blessing to a junkie's best friend!!

[ January 18, 2006 ]
As Tyler has said, "I don't want to sing this stuff half-heartedly
and just kind of fade away, I'd like to go out screaming."
And with "Adios" plans in the works, AudioA is definitely not going
down quietly!
According to Peter York (EMI CMG President), "The plans emerging
for Adios promise to deliver a fun and poignant experience
in which Audio Adrenaline fans can participate."Along with (top secret) Adios live show plans, the AudioA boys are working on a special edition Adios CD//DVD package. The CD is set to contain AudioA's greatest hits, along with two BRAND NEW songs. The DVD will be a junkie treasure trove of music videos, live show footage and never before seen band interviews. Also included on the DVD will be interviews with friends of AA (ala tobyMac, MercyMe, SCC, Pillar, Relient K, Newsboys & more) sharing their own AudioA memories. Stay tuned to AudioACOM for more details as the band begins to say, "Adios"... |
[ January 9, 2006 ]
If you haven't heard the news,
you might want to sit down before you read this..... After
14 years, 15 major tours, 10 albums recorded and over 3 million
albums sold, 18 #1 radio hits, 6 grammy nominations, 22 dove nods,
and one "Song of the Decade", the boys
of Audio Adrenaline are hanging up their guitars. With
the official press release still in the works, Mark first made the
announcement to the crowd at their January 6th show in Anchorage....
2006 will be the final year for AudioA.
Don't miss your chance to get out there and see them once more.... or you'll
regret it for a lifetime.
At a loss for words, I will say this..... as sad as we will be to see you go, I can't begin to express the thankfulness felt for your years of dedication to His will, reaching millions by living passionately for Him. As Mark said only last summer, the heart of Audio Adrenaline will keep going... through the music, the hearts of the fans, and through projects like Flicker Records, the Hands & Feet Project, Big House Kids, and Nitro Kids. In the words of one junkie, these projects have been developed "in a manner that will allow them an opportunity to continue the rich legacy they have allowed God to begin in their ministries both individually and collectively." I think the sentiment of this CMCer sums it up well.... "They're definitely one for the history books of Christian music." |
[ December 31, 2005 ]
What's it like to be
born on a holiday?? Just ask Tyler: "It has always been hard
for me to have my birthday on New Year's
Eve, but now I have come to realize it is a blessing. I
get to be with my good friends, play music and celebrate new beginnings."
And so, today, as the boys are rocking Lynchburg, VA, we celebrate
the gift that is Tyler....... here's to Ty & to new beginnings. |
