At
Kentucky Christian College, A-180 quickly made a
name for itself locally as an old-school Christian rock band... The
school was booking them nearly every weekend and the group recorded two
albums while at the college. Then Bob Herdman came along and
offered a few songs he had written ("My God" and "DC-10") and asked the
guys to write the music. Bob then offered up part of the money he
had from his army college bill to pay for studio time to record the
songs. "My God" was originally recorded for $800 (under the band
name Bob had come up with a few years
back: "Audio Adrenaline") and sent out to radio stations on a
compilation
cd. Before long, "My God" reached number five on the hard rock
charts
and had caught the attention of ForeFront Records. ForeFront
President, Dan Brock, called the band and offered them a record deal
based on that
one song. The catch? Brock wanted to offer the deal to
"Audio
Adrenaline", which really wasn't a band at the time. However,
about
three months later, the offer was still on the table and the group
decided
that this was the ministry God was calling them to do. So Bob
joined
the band and Mark's brother, David, left to focus on his new family.
Audio
Adrenaline moved to Nashville to begin their new career.
